QTrans. The Queensland Transgender Gender Diverse and Non-Binary Assoc. Inc. We have a 35 year history of providing visibility, advocacy, and support, for Transgender, Gender Diverse, and Non Binary folk.
The objects of the association are:
- To advocate equality of Human Rights for all Transgender, Gender Diverse, and Non-Binary persons.
- To be a public voice calling for recognition that our communities exist
- To assist community members access gender affirming health care.
- To assist allies in their support of community members
- To provide a safe opportunity for community networking
- To advocate for gender affirming health to be provided within the public health care system.
Project 491 is an initiative led by AusPATH in response to the Queensland Government’s restriction on gender affirming care (GAC) for trans and gender diverse (TGD) children.
AND
AusPATH, in partnership with LHA and Open Doors has created a counterpoint survey to the official Queensland IRIS 1+2 Survey. IRIS 1+2 excludes key voices and focuses narrowly on regret and development concerns. This new survey centres on lived experience, allowing families to share what truly matters in supporting trans children. Responses are anonymous, with optional permission for de-identified quotes to support advocacy. Survey here
In Our Words 2026 survey is live. Given exclusion from social media of many of the target groups please circulate widely.
For more than 20 years, the In Our Words survey has shed light on LGBTIQA+ young people’s health and wellbeing in Australia. Last time, over 6000 LGBTIQA+ young people shared their stories, leading to real service and policy changes for the community.
